NATIONAL CERTIFICATE IN ICT
NCICT Year 1, Term 1 is the foundation of your journey into the world of information and communications technology. Designed for beginners, this term gives you the essential knowledge and practical skills needed to thrive in today's digital work environment, no prior experience required.
You will start by exploring the fundamentals of information technology, learning how data and information are processed, how computer hardware components work together, and how different types of software power the systems we use every day. You will also develop strong communication skills, both written and oral, and learn how to express yourself clearly and professionally in any setting.
The term further builds your analytical thinking through foundational mathematics, covering algebra, equations, polynomials, logarithms, and discrete structures. You will then apply all of this knowledge practically through Microsoft Office, gaining hands-on experience in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
The term wraps up with a real-life project where you will bring everything together to produce a unique product, demonstrating the skills and confidence you have built throughout the term.
